THE Bees are reported to be about to make a club record bid for Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson.
The forward was on Brentford's radar during the summer transfer window but they were unable to agree a deal with the Midlands club for Johnson.
Since then the 20-year-old has gone on to become a vital part of Steve Cooper's side having scored seven goals and assistig five in 28 Championship matches.
Forest are determined to keep hold of their rising star and have reportedly already rejected a £18 million off from Brentford this month.
However according to Football Insider the Bees still want to make a deal happen before the close of the transfer window on Monday and could go back in with another offer.
If successful with this bid, Johnson will become the club's record signing surpassing the £13.5 million paid to Scottish side Celtic for defender Kristoffer Ajer.
