CHRISTIAN Eriksen is reportedly closing in signing for the Bees on a short-term contract.
The 29-year-old is currently a free-agent after he left Inter Milan after both parties agreed to terminate his contract.
This decision came after he suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at the Euros last summer.
It had been reported that Brentford were in talks over a six-month contract for the playmaker, but a deal is now believed to be closer.
According to The Athletic, Eriksen has agreed a deal to join the club and that completion of the deal hinges on him passing his medical.
Brentford are now doing their due diligence on the 29-year-old's fitness to play again due to his cardiac arrest.
There is no rush on completing the medical process as Eriksen is without a club and therefore not limited by the January transfer window deadline.
Eriksen will also need to obtain a work permit, although with his this is unlikely to be an issue.
