BLUES manager Thomas Tuchel has supported the decision to move the Champions League final away from Russia.
The UEFA executive committee held an emergency meeting to discuss its response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The committee has opted to remove the showpiece match from the 68,000-capacity Gazprom Arena in Russia’s second-largest city.
The decision has the support of the Chelsea manager as he believes the choice to move the Champions League final away from Russia was the right one.
Tuchel said: “Yes, a clear yes, and sadly I think it’s the worst reason to change location; the absolutely worst reason.
“We feel horrible about it in general, it clouds our minds and it clouds our focus of course.
“And we can absolutely understand the decision. This is not good news but it had to happen. There are things more important (than football).”
