CHELSEA boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that MAson Mount has suffered a ligament injury.
The English midfielder has been out of action since picking up the injury in the first half of the Club World Cup final.
Tuchel has now confirmed that Mount will not be available for this weekend's game against Crystal Palace and the Champions League fixture against Lille.
Instead, there is hope that Mount will be able to play in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.
Tuchel said in his pre-match press conference: "We will push for the league cup final. He has injured ligaments in the very first minute of the final unfortunately
"The Champions League seems to be very, very close and we'll try hard for the cup final."
Defenders Reece James and Ben Chilwell are the other Chelsea players who will miss the trip to Selhurst Park.
It is believed that James will resume first-team training next week. This is after seeing a set-back in his rehabilitation.
Tuchel, however, remains reluctant to choose a time when he will be back and available for selection.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek did return to training this week so could be involved.
