Star of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing Motsi Mabuse is facing claims of controlling behaviours by her ex-husband of 11 years.

The professional dancer and Strictly judge was married to her former dancing partner Timo Kulczak from 2003 until 2014.

Now her ex-husband is calling for Motsi to serve a prison sentence over alleged claims made by the Strictly star in her autobiography.

It follows reports that Timo is also suing Motsi for the claims, according to the Metro.

Strictly Motsi Mabuse faces claims of controlling behaviour

Reports suggest that Motsi is facing being sued for up to £70,000 by her former husband after she wrote he restricted her access to money and what she ate.

Following further reports that the Strictly judge refused to settle the claims outside of court, the case is expected to be heard in front of a courtroom.

The lawyers of Timo have allegedly asked a court to send Motsi to jail for six months or to be fined £250,000 as part of a ‘cease and desist’ clause.

Speaking to The Sun, the Strictly star's ex-husband's lawyer Samy Hammad said: “Ms Mabuse is refusing to pay, and so the court now has to decide.

“All we just want her to do is to retract the untruths published about him, and to compensate him accordingly.

“My client’s reputation has repeatedly been trashed.

“You have to threaten a penalty saying if you do it again, this is what I want in terms of money, or in terms of the prison sentence.”

Following Timo's lawyer's statement, a spokesperson for Motsi shared: “It is untrue our client faces imprisonment with regards to her ex-husband’s civil lawsuit, or that a fine, which would only be payable if our client culpably violates a court order, would be more than a nominal amount.”

The lawsuit was filed in the regional court of Offenburg in Germany, and as a German citizen, reports suggest Motsi cannot ignore it.

The former couple share one daughter together.
