The Remember Radnor campaign is closing in on its £10,000, as donations flood in from residents and businesses.
A donation of £210.50 came from St Catherine’s School in Cross Deep, which chose the Remember Radnor campaign to donate the proceeds from its staff Christmas raffle.
Sister Paula Thomas said: “We have been attending the remembrance service in Radnor Gardens for many years, and were sad to see that the war memorial had been damaged by metal thieves.
“So many men and women gave their lives in order to give us the freedom that we are so lucky to experience today. It is such a shame that a few thoughtless people could show such a lack of respect for their memory. “We, therefore, wanted to contribute in our own small way towards the costs of repairing the memorial. It is our way of saying ‘Thank you—we, as a school, will always remember you’.”
Please support the campaign, with as much or as little as you can, by sending a cheque to the Remember Radnor Appeal, c/o RTT, Allied House 29-39 London Road, Twickenham TW1 3SZ.Funds can also be donated directly to the Remember Radnor Appeal account. Sort code 40-44-39, account number 91682679.
