Rotarians in Kew had the opportunity to grill Richmond’s mayor, Councillor Clare Head, about her career when she popped in for a job talk at the Coach and Horses Hotel in Kew Green.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Kew Gardens, the talk on Wednesday, February 1, was a chance to hear firsthand about the life of an elected councillor as well as the different responsibilities that came with being mayor.
The evening was also marked by the exciting news that current rotary club president Peter King had just been elected to become the 2014/15 president of the whole of rotary in Britain.
Mr King, who has lived in Kew since 1983, is one of the founders of the Rotary Club of Kew Gardens.
He has been a barrister for more than 30 years, specialising in crime and common law and is a part-time provincial stipendiary magistrate and special immigration adjudicator and currently a judge of the Upper Tribunal specialising in immigration, asylum and human rights.
