Richmond seems set on hosting the capital’s biggest royal wedding celebrations.
Richmond Council has received 82 applications from residents eager to throw a party as they mark the April 29 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The council confirmed the number of street party applications lodged had gone up by 18 since Monday morning.
Melissa Kennaway, of Twickenham, said she and her neighbours were so excited about the wedding they had even started to make their own bunting.
She said: “We have arranged a DJ, bouncy castle, games and food and are now praying it does not rain.”
Applications close today.
