Richmond was today bracing itself for a freezing night as temperatures look set to reach a low of -7C by 6pm.
But despite the cold and snow services across the borough were running as usual today.
All schools are open, although Grey Court in Ham will only be running classes for year 10 and year 11 students today, and all intensive day care centres remain open as well.
Homecare services and meals on wheels services will be operating as usual although the council said there may be some delays of icy conditions.
Traffic is also running smoothly throughout the borough thanks to council gritters having made several grit runs last night.
