Residents are being advised to wrap up warm today as temperatures are set to plummet.
According to Met office forecasters, temperatures across the borough are set to drop to -2C by this evening before hitting a low of -3C in the early hours of tomorrow.
Light snowfall is predicted throughout the day but Richmond Council is confident it will be able to keep roads and services open as the bad weather continues.
So far there have been no reports of school closures and day care centres and home care services are operating as normal.
All the main roads are also currently open and running smoothly after the council sprayed 46 ton of grit on the borough's roads overnight.
