A plea has been made for unwanted furniture.
Richmond Furniture Scheme is in urgent need of beds, mattresses, wardrobes and chests of drawers.
The charity, based in Twickenham, supplies furniture at a low cost to people who could not otherwise afford it.
However, the charity is currently struggling to provide enough furniture to meet demand.
Jo Gregory, from the charity, said: “We need furniture in good condition. We cannot keep up with demand.
“As we are so short of furniture at the moment we can only sell to people who live in or close to the area of Richmond.”
The charity is able to collect items free of charge if viable to do so.
However, it is unable to accept electrical and white goods and all upholstered furniture must have a fire retardant label on it. It is particularly in need of double beds and clean firm mattresses. Spare garden tools are also being sought.
