A college lecturer inspired by comedian Eddie Izzard to run 30 marathons in 35 days has completed his first race.
Jason Arday set off from Clapham at 6am yesterday to run the 26-mile course, which took in the sights of central London and Teddington, before finishing in Putney.
The 24-year-old sports lecturer at Richmond College aims to raise £5,000 for charity from his marathon effort.
All money raised will be split between the Shooting Star Children's Hospice and Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.
Shooting Star staff welcomed Mr Arday to Teddington as he reached the halfway point in his first race, which he completed in four hours 12 minutes.
He is hoping to run each marathon in less than five hours.
