MEMBER of Parliament Ann Keen arranged for a delegation of local residents to meet with Lord Whitty, the minister responsible for water and the sewage industry this week, in an attempt to stop the distressing odour nuisance that residents suffer from the Mogden sewage plant.
Ann Keen MP took local concerns direct to the Minister who agreed to come and see for himself the situation and discuss the seriousness of the problem.
Ann Keen told the Times: "The difficulties faced by the community were relayed to the Minister. He grew up in Isleworth so knows the area well and I look forward to welcoming the Minister to Mogden Sewage works so he can see for himself. The quality of life of local residents is without question being affected and we need urgent action to support the community.
"I would like to thank the members of the Mogden Residents Action group who have been campaigning tirelessly for years. Enough is enough and we must all work together to protect the interests of local residents. "
Cllr Ron Bartholomew added: "It was a great pleasure to meet Lord Whitty; he was strongly supportive of the local residents concerns. "
