ANN Keen, MP for Brentford Chiswick and Isleworth, hosted an International Debt Relief event at Christ Church, Turnham Green on Thursday, March 25.
The event, successfully organised by Simon Rodway OBE, brought together local Church and Community groups, NGOs and constituents, all those who have campaigned tirelessly on the important issue of international debt relief.
The guest speaker was Shriti Vadera, a senior advisor to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, who has taken part in various international high level talks on international debt relief, including talks at the Vatican. She addressed the group and answered questions regarding the International Finance Facility and the Millennium Development Goals.
Ann Keen MP said: "The continuing existence of dire poverty, illiteracy and disease stands as an indictment of us all. Thank you for writing to me, lobbying me and pushing me to act on these issues in Parliament and on an international stage."
