THE FORMER White Horse pub on the edge of the Butts estate, Brentford, is to unveil its new look this Friday (April 2) after extensive refurbishment sees it rebranded as a Bar and Dining Room called the Weir.
New management has taken over the establishment and it has been closed for the past few months while the works were being completed.
The new business will serve modern brasserie cuisine, complemented by a wide-ranging wine list. The menu will change between lunch and dinner and will feature many favourite dishes.
The building itself is of historical interest locally, as it used to belong to the uncle of William Turner, the artist. Turner lived there with him for a number of years from about 1785.
While carrying out the refurbishments, the new managers found a room behind one of the walls in the cellar that they believe has remained untouched for over hundreds of years.
The Heritage society have confirmed that it dates back to the late 18th century and was part of the house where Turner lived.
