VISITORS to the seat of local government in Richmond upon Thames will be greeted with an unexpected sight next week a display of nappies! It is all part of the council's support for Real Nappy Week.
Now in its eighth year, this special week is the annual focus of the real nappy campaign, part of a major national waste reduction strategy, and is supported by over 350 local authorities.
Richmond will be doing its bit to encourage real nappy use when it puts on display a range of washable nappies in the Atrium at the Civic Centre, York Street, Twickenham, from Monday, March 29 to Friday, April 2.
In addition, the first three Richmond upon Thames residents to leave their details on 020 8891 6878 will receive a free real nappy trial pack containing four nappies, four wraps, and liners so don't delay!
Richmond Council's Cabinet Member for Environment and Planning, Cllr David Marlow, said: "Real Nappy Week provides important information to parents about the range of reusable nappies available and reinforces the message on reducing unnecessary waste. We hope interested residents will come along to Atrium and ring the hotline number for the chance of a free pack."
