A MAN was killed after being hit by a Picadilly line train at Hounslow Central station on Lampton Road on Wednesday evening.
The man, who was in his early 30s was spotted walking on the track by passengers before an approaching train. Despite the driver using his emergency brake, the train failed to stop and the man was taken underneath the train.
Relatives have asked transport officials to keep the victim's identity secret, but the man was described as black with dreadlocked hair. He came from the East end of London.
Police were at first unable to identify the man, who was pronounced dead of multiple injuries on arrival of the ambulance service's helicopter. Fingerprints eventually led police to his identity.
Police say that they are treating the matter as a non-suspicious death.
