To raise cash for drugs a Hounslow man walked into an office and stole a £1,000 projector.
For this Ranjit Bhinder, aged 22, of Pears Road, Hounslow, was jailed for three months at Feltham court last week.
He had pleaded guilty to stealing the overhead projector from Munster MSC, Cranford, on December 16 on an earlier occasion and had been remanded in custody for full pre-sentence reports. Prosecuting, Ellen Crossfield said that that at 2pm on that day Bhinder and another man had walked into the offices and took the machine. As they were leaving an employee took the number of their car and they were stopped by police shortly afterwards.
Magistrates were told that Bhinder had been addicted to crack cocaine and heroin for three years and has asked for help to get off drugs. After his spell in custody he had come off drugs and was hoping to get special counselling.
