QUEST Diagnostics, a provider of diagnostic medical testing, information and services based in Hounslow and Heston, has been named as one of the 50 Best Small Companies to Work for in the UK, as published in a recent report in The Sunday Times.
Quest Diagnostics employs approximately 200 people in the United Kingdom in Heston and Hounslow. Quest Diagnostics has offices and a laboratory based in Heston, Middlesex as well as offices in Hounslow, Middlesex, and a small laboratory based in Central London. From these bases in the UK, the company provides diagnostic testing services to physicians, hospitals, clinics and employers, and also provides clinical trials testing services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
Quest Diagnostics is particularly proud to have made the list as inclusion was primarily based on the results of a survey of its employees conducted by the Sunday Times. The results of that employee survey contributed 80 per cent towards the overall ranking, with the balance from an assessment of the benefit packages, employment policies, processes, services and facilities provided by Quest Diagnostics.
In the survey, employees were asked to rate the company across 65 questions, giving answers on a seven-point scale ranging from strongly disagree to strongly agree. Each question fell into one of eight "factors" which, according to the report, make up the key components of a successful workplace. The report showed that leadership, wellbeing, managers and personal growth are the critical influences on the workplace experience, with the other contributing factors being: the team; giving something back; the company; and fair deal. The survey conducted by the Sunday Times was the biggest ever conducted in the UK, covering more than 58,000 employees across Britain. With around 200 employees, making the list against such tough competition is an achievement Quest Diagnostics is proud of.
"Following our success in making the Financial Times Top 50 Best Workplaces last year, we're delighted at the achievement of also making the Sunday Times 50 Best Small Companies list. It's a particular honour as selection for the list is based mainly on employee feedback and it is recognition of the contribution made by everyone to make Quest Diagnostics a great place to work." said Steve Joyce, Managing Director, U.K. Diagnostics.
"Everyone at Quest Diagnostics U.K. can be proud of this accomplishment," said Anita Sexton, European Business Director, Clinical Trials. "Making the prestigious Best Small Companies list shows that Quest Diagnostics is a great place to work.
"It also tells our customers that we are a great company to work with."
Quest Diagnostics believes it was named one of the best companies because its managers, supervisors and employees really live the company values quality; integrity; innovation; accountability; collaboration; leadership - and make Quest Diagnostics an enjoyable place to work.
