A ST Margarets man collapsed during a rugby game and died despite team-mates' efforts to save him.
Cameron Johnston was just minutes into his last game for Richmond-based London Scottish on Saturday when he fell to the ground suffering a suspected heart attack.
He was airlifted to hospital but all efforts to save him failed.
Cammie, as he was known at the club, had been playing for the Extra Bs at Drifters in Farnham Common.
The 39-year-old, whose father also played for London Scottish, joined the club in 1991 and had propped for all six senior sides.
Just two seasons ago he was a regular in the first XV.
Married to Meredith, a union made in Adelaide during the 2001 British Lions tour, they lived in St Margarets with their four-year-old daughter Megan.
The family were preparing to move to Sydney once Cameron had finished his job as an aviation insurance broker and this was set to be his last game before he flew out.
A spokesman for the club said: "The club is deeply shocked and saddened, and all our thoughts go to Meredith and Megan at this awful time."
