YOU can't get more international than an Irish man living in Isleworth, representing Great Britain at Gaelic football and jetting off to Dubai to play against Australian teams.
John Cafferkey, originally from Westport in County Mayo, will fly to the United Arab Emirates this weekend along with a 37-strong group of team mates, coaches and physiotherapists to play in the Dubai International GAA tournament.
The Hayes based team, chosen to represent Great Britain after winning the 2002-2003 British championship, will then compete against all the top teams in the sport from around the world.
John, a Year Three teacher at Andrew Ewing School, Heston, said: "It's going to be tough because there are a few teams from Australia and some top quality teams from Ireland playing over there.
"But because we get slightly better weather over here we should be better prepared than the Irish teams back home."
After the tournament John says that he will be involved in coaching Gaelic football to the Year Three and Four pupils at the school so they can follow in his prodigious footsteps.
