HOUNSLOW gran Pam Ebsworth had a birthday to remember on Monday - when she spent the day dressed as a giant daffodil in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Pam wanted to do something special for her 64th birthday and came up with her own wacky way to mark the charity's annual Daffodil Campaign 2004, supported by Yellow Pages.
Friends sponsored her to wear a bright yellow and green fleece suit, complete with giant daffodil head, throughout the day even when she did her weekly shop at her local supermarket.
Pam said: "Memory is the theme of this year's Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Campaign and I certainly had a day to remember! I've supported the charity for more than 10 years and I am delighted that I was able to help them in such a novel way this year."
Marie Curie Cancer Care Fundraiser Jane Shufflebotham said: "We're really grateful to Pam for her support. Her efforts will help fund the Marie Curie Nurses who provide high quality care, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home.
"I'm sure she'll have some wonderful memories and she'll be helping to create precious moments to remember for cancer patients and their families."
The Marie Curie Cancer Care Daffodil Campaign has a £2 million target and support given by Yellow Pages ensures that the cost of promotional material and merchandise for the Campaign is already covered thereby ensuring that the money raised goes straight to the charity.
