A HESTON policeman has been rewarded for his great detective work and exceptional bravery at a Metropolitan Police commendation ceremony.
Beat officer PC Nick Alford, who patrols Heston East, has made more than 200 arrests and submitted 750 intelligence reports in the past two years.
The commendation follows PC Alford's dedicated work in his community, for which he was named Community Constable of the Year in 2003. He has also been given a further honour - the nickname Snoopy - by local schoolchildren, as they never know where he'll be next.
PC Alford, 44, received his award from Commissioner Sir John Stevens in a ceremony held on Monday. He has also been given a lap top by local company EDS and a digital camera by Hounslow Homes, which he will use in his work.
The officer, who's worked in the police force for 25 years, puts his success down to hard work and dedication.
