In a row with her drunk and violent husband a woman threw a kettle of boiling water at him and scalded his back.
She was arrested later and when she appeared at Feltham court last week Ketty Nalletamby, was given a conditional discharge after magistrates said she had been provoked.
Nalletmaby, aged 37, of High Street, Feltham and Oriel School House, Hounslow, had admitted assaulting Fred Nallemtaby at Oriel School House on February 2 on an earlier occasion and been remanded for reports.
Prosecuting Ellen Crossfield said that the couple had been rowing about his drinking habits. He came home and she said she was moving out and wanted a divorce.
As he was drinking lager she threw a sugar bowl and vase at him and then the kettle of boiling water which hit him on the back. Mr Nalletamby had been screaming with pain from the scalds.
Representing her Narendra Mehta said that she had been provoked by his violence. He had beaten her and thrown tea and beer all over her. Magistrates said she had been provoked and gave her a conditional discharge.
