BOGUS callers tricked two elderly sisters in to letting them into their home, before making off with £140 in cash.
The sisters, who share a home in Fauconberg Road, Chiswick, answered a knock on the door at 5.30pm on Wednesday March 10. They were greeted by a man claiming to be carrying out repairs on the footpath, who asked if he could come in to turn the electricity off.
The 83-year-old and 73-year-old sisters let the man into their flat and he was very polite as he walked around. There was then another knock at the door and the man went and let another worker' in to the flat. The men continued to walk around the property and then left 15 minutes later. The ladies then discovered that money had been taken from purses kept in a bedroom.
