ONE of west London's premier road races has been boosted by a 50-strong mass entry from Chiswick based PR company Text 100 which is aiming to raise more than £10,000 for a breast cancer charity.

The company, whose offices are in Power Road, Chiswick, have entered the Thames Towpath Ten on April 4, to raise money for the Breast Cancer Campaign after its UK and Ireland managing director Cathy Pittham was diagnosed with the disease.

The race organisers, West 4 Harriers, have also made the Campaign the official charity for this year's 10-mile event, renamed the Fuller's Thames Towpath Ten (FTTT) after the Chiswick-based brewery became title sponsor.

"Everyone in our office bar two who will be on holiday is taking part in the race," said Text 100's Gavin Loader, 24.

As well as the Chiswick effort, several of Text 100's 22 offices worldwide including Ireland, Germany, France and India are also planning to raise money for the charity by entering or organising local runs on the same day as the FTTT.

"We hope to raise £10,000 from the UK office and would like it doubled by the worldwide effort," added Loader.

Online donations to Text 100's charity fundraising efforts can be made via a special website set up by Loader's colleague, Andy West, at www.justgiving.com/andy10milerunsponsorhip.

A spokesperson for the BreastCancerCampaign said "We are really pleased to have so many people running at the Fuller's Thames Towpath Ten to raise money for us.

"It's just absolutely fantastic."
