CHILDREN at Buckingham Primary School in Hampton will be better equipped to cope with emergencies thanks to Richmond upon Thames Churches Housing Trust.
For the third year in succession, the trust sponsored a whole year group to learn about first aid.
Children have been given first aid handbooks to help them learn how the body works, what to do in an emergency, how to give first aid and when to call an ambulance. These cheerful and clear books are used by teachers in PHSE lessons and are produced by the Access Partnership for the London Ambulance Service.
Hazel Vinson, service development director for the trust, said: "We would encourage other local businesses to support this initiative to help children be prepared and confident in emergencies. We chose Buckingham Primary School as it is the local school for children on one of our largest estates at Fulmer Close."
