A SHOP with a difference opened up last week in Brentford High Street. Growers of Conviction, owned by Philip Walsh has now brought his company, Applewoods Hydroponica onto the High Street.
In a quirky twist of fate, the shop, which is located opposite the magistrates court, specialises in horticultural lighting, hydroponics and cannabis seeds.
Mr Walsh said: "As a locally born man with a long family history in the Chiswick and Brentford area, I am looking forward to playing a part in shaping the changing face of Brentford and let's face it, the developers aren't doing anything to green the area.
"It's concrete brick, and glass right up to even the thinnest of pavements, what flower gardens there are seem almost apologetic. Still, I'm sure the views of Richmond and Ealing's trees will be very nice for those high enough to see them. No pun intended."
Mr Walsh was in the Times last year after he complained about his handling by police when they raided his home in Chiswick and confiscated cannabis seeds and growing equipment.
Police were keen to stress possession of cannabis, but not its seeds, is still a criminal offence.
