PLANS to develop the former Beecham headquarters on the M4 along with its surrounding area in Brentford are to be unveiled today (Friday March 5).
In early December, Four Communications Plc, in charge of the consultation, held an exhibition at International House to listen to the public's views about the redevelopment of Wallis House and the adjoining site.
The exhibition was held to find out what local people wanted from the redevelopment of the Wallis House site.
Over 2000 leaflets were sent out and other local organisations were asked to inform the community about the event.
The key things residents wanted to see were; the site back in use, residential and employment development and shops that locals can use.
However, residents were most concerned about too many cars, adequate parking spaces and provision of local services (for example schools and hospitals).
After the information gathered from the first consultation, the developers have now produced a plan for the site and are again inviting locals to International House to view these initial proposals and provide feedback to the project team.
The exhibition is on March 5 (3-6pm) and 6 (9am-12pm) at International House on the Great West Road.
A spokesperson explained: "The scheme we have drawn up, we believe, will enhance the overall development of Brentford and connect the site with the parks around the Great West Road. The site itself will become green once again.
"We are planning to plant a variety of trees and other shrubs.
"The communal areas will include landscaped green spaces and ecology areas which we hope will encourage wildlife and plants to live alongside the development."
He added: "We are talking to nursery and health providers, shopkeepers and restaurant owners to develop new community facilities in Brentford and jobs for local people.
"The development will also include private and affordable homes."
