ARTISTS in the borough over the age of 80 are invited to enter their work in a new London exhibition celebrating the work of older people.
The Hames Levack art gallery is looking for undiscovered artistic talent amongst the over 80s, bemoaning the fact that the art scene is obsessed with youth.
To redress the balance, the gallery is inviting older artists to take part in its summer exhibition in Soho Square.
The art can be from practicing artists or complete novices who feel that they have something to say. Any medium including painting, photography, sculpture drawing and video will be considered. The organisers want the exhibition to be as diverse as possible.
If you or anyone you know (perhaps a parent or grandparent) wants to be considered, contact Hames Levack for an application form. Entry is free and the deadline is April 30.
Contact Hames Levack on 7300 7319, email info@hameslevack.com or write to The Old Fire Station, 140 Tabernacle Street, London, EC2A 4SD.
