A CONSULTATION with Brentford residents has led to amendments to parking plans for the 18-storey student accommodation planned on the former Pilotworks' site on the M4.
Plan's for Thames Valley University's Paragon site, currently a haulage yard on the Great West Road, next to Boston Manor Road, have now been altered to allow for more parking spaces.
The accommodation, together with much needed extra teaching space, is essential for the university to be able to deliver its commitment to the NHS to provide qualified nurses, according to a TVU spokesperson.
"The West London NHS Confederation is looking to TVU to provide 1,000 student study bedrooms, primarily to train nurses and midwives. Bringing these facilities to Brentford will provide a direct benefit to the area."
It is also hoped that the scheme will provide affordable accommodation for other essential public services workers, such as teachers and metropolitan police employees, who are currently being priced out of the area.
