THE ACCLAIMED London Mozart Players are giving a "Saxophone and Strings" concert at St Michael's & All Angels Church next Saturday, March 13.
The players perform at the church several times a year and are a popular feature in their annual calendar. The London Mozart Players is regarded as one of Europe's finest chamber orchestras, and is the longest-established in the UK, having been founded in 1949 by Harry Blech. The outstanding quality of the London Mozart Player's performances of Mozart and other classical composers, both in the concert hall and on CD, is recognised throughout the world.
The Players' leader David Juritz said: "We get loads of children coming a long and I just love the fact it is a really social evening where people bump into friends as well as enjoying the music. It's definitely my favourite gig of the year and a lovely place to play."
Leading classical saxophonist John Harle joins violinist David Juritz to play Syrinx by Debussy, Pan by Benjamin Britten and a divertimento by Mozart as well as Chic Corea children's songs. The performance will begin at 7.30pm and tickets are £15 or £10 for concessions(UB40 or NUS), under 16s are £5. Call the box office on 020 8686 1996 to book in advance, or pay on the door.
