The borough’s Conservative group insist they are not using Feltham as an example of “Broken Britain” at the Tory party conference next week.
Councillors have hit back at reports by another Hounslow newspaper they will be showing a video which paints Feltham as an area blighted by antisocial behaviour.
Councillor Linda Davies, lead member for children's services and family, said she had no idea where the rumours had come from.
She said: “The film was made in Isleworth, it took place on the grounds of the Youth Offending Team.
“It is all positive about how knife crime is coming down and how we have not had any fatalities. We are doing good work in Hounslow and Feltham.
“The crime rate has come down so we are obviously doing something right. It is a very positive film on the work that we are doing.”
The film was made by shadow minister for immigration Damien Green and is due to be shown during a speech next week by shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling. He is due to give a speech entitled “Mending Our Broken Society”.
The Hounslow Chronicle reported the film had been shot in Feltham and parts of Hanworth Park and included interviews with residents who had been victims of antisocial behaviour.
Councillor for Feltham North, Mark Bowen, who is also deputy leader of the council, said: “There have been a couple of misunderstandings, the film was made in Isleworth and is about the positive effect the Conservatives have had. I cannot remember the last time we had a knife fatality in Hounslow.”
Opposition party members initially lashed out at the reports Feltham was to be shown in a negative light.
John Cooper, Labour councillor for Feltham, said it was “appalling” the Conservatives thought badly of Feltham adding that he was “shocked and disgusted”.
When the Hounslow and Brentford Times contacted him he said: “I have not seen the film, I was only making a comment on the information the Chronicle had given me.
"My concern is for Feltham. If it is a positive film, it is showing what a good job the Labour government are doing.”
The Conservative Party said they were unable to comment on any of the content of the conference ahead of next week.
