Two people have been charged in connection with the stabbing of a middle-aged man in Isleworth.
A 46-year-old homeless man was attacked with a knife in Mill Platt, at about 9pm, on Friday, police said.
Owen Allen, who suffered stab wounds to his arms and head and a slashed throat, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Police confirmed Jodie Dobby, 22, of no fixed abode, and Sonni Dhillon, 19, of Cardington Square, Hounslow, have been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
The pair, who are in custody, were due to appear at Feltham Magistrates' Court today.
The road was sealed off by police over the weekend as officers gathered evidence and searched nearby bushes.
Police said Mr Allen was discovered after firefighters, who had been called to a small fire in the road, spotted his foot protruding from a bush. They called the ambulance service and paramedics took Mr Allen to hospital.
Detective Inspector Alan Holford said: "The family are aware and very thankful for everyone's efforts in saving Owen's life."
Harry Singh, who had been working on the night of the incident in Sabre Wines, opposite Mill Platt, said police had asked to look at his CCTV as part of their investigation.
He said: ”It’s very bad.
“At about 10pm there were police cars and a van and ambulance here.
“People go through the area and there’s 24-hour traffic - it’s not a quiet area.
“All the police were here on Saturday searching the scene and talking to us.
“They were searching until about 7pm, going through all the bushes.”
Pravin Disi, from the Local Express One Stop, in Twickenham Road, said police were at the scene when he arrived to open up the shop at 6am on Saturday.
He said: “There were four police cars here on Saturday.
“At first I’d heard that someone had died then that they were still alive.”
