FRESH concerns for the car park at Putney Rowing Club in Kew have emerged since work taking place at the site has made it inaccessible.
The car park is used by the rowing club, schools and the gymnastics club and visitors already have a struggle fighting over the usual 18 spaces.
But matters have deteriorated since it became damaged after being used for equipment by a housing company and this was made worse by the wet weather.
Work is now taking place to rectify the situation, but this will take some time.
And it was suggested that there is no alternative parking within walking distance.
John Brace of the Gymnastics Association said: "The car park is completely unusable because of the work being done at the site.
"There is nowhere within walking distance where we can park regularly."
It was suggested at an area consultation meeting this week that the council consider removing single yellow lines on Townmead Road to let cars park there.
They would also check whether the crematorium would allow extra cars in their car park.
Cllr Robin Jowit, a Kew councillor, said: "We are asking for a patience from people.
"It may take a bit longer and we are supportive of finding a way for the removal of the yellow line in Townmead Road."
