ART4FUN, the paint your own pottery shop on Chiswick High Road, has been taken over by Chiswick mother, Elizabeth Grumitt, who has made some exciting changes.

She said: "I was first introduced to Art4Fun five years ago. When my first daughter was born. I, like many new mums was keen to capture for posterity, her little foot prints on a plate. Over the last few years my two daughters and I have been regular customers and now have an eclectic range of hand painted pottery."

She explained: "Things came to a head in the summer when, in a casual conversation at the store, it was discovered that the franchise was available. After a few months and much discussion, I decided to take it on in October, much to the delight of my daughters who are keen painters."

She added: "We have just re-opened after a New Year refurbishment and I am looking forward to developing new events and activities within the store - "Mother and Baby Hand and Foot Print Workshops"; "Paint Me A Story"; Children's Holiday Workshops and school and community group projects are just a few of the things in development."

Workshops such as paint me a story' are specially designed just for toddlers and their parents. First the children are read a story, then they are asked to paint a ceramic piece that co-ordinates with that story. Books that are featured in these sessions include Captain's Purr, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Giraffes Can't Dance. The decorated pieces will be glazed and fired and ready for collection in five days.

But Art4Fun is not just for children. They also cater for birthday parties, hen parties, adult get togethers, corporate/ team building events and fund-raisers. Guests can choose from painting ceramics, t-shirts or plaster and parties last up to two hours. Participants are encouraged to bring their own food and drink or order a takeaway.

Items to paint cost from £2.50 upwards and there is a studio fee of £3.95 per person. Alternatively Art 4 Fun will deliver all that is needed for an evening of entertainment to customers' homes, or for those who want to be creative in their lunch break, one studio fee will entitle painters to five consecutive lunch-time sessions.
