There is just one week to go before the deadline for entries to this year’s Borough in Bloom gardening competition.
There are 13 competition categories, including best front gardens, residential frontages with hanging baskets and balcony displays, as well as best displays for blocks of flats, community buildings, pubs and businesses.
The Serco Award for the best environmental garden or project is open to entrants whose plants encourage wildlife using sustainable organic methods.
The Richmond and Twickenham Times is once again supporting the award for the best residential floral display, and a new award this year is the Richmond Housing Partnership Community Impact Award for the display that has the greatest impact on its surrounding neighbourhood.
Judging will take place in the last week of June and entrants may win a gold, silver or bronze certificate with the best in each category winning a Borough in Bloom plaque.
The deadline for entries is Friday, June 12. Entry forms are available at borough libraries or email richmondinbloom@btconnect.com
