MPs Alan and Ann Keen are the latest to hit the headlines after it emerged today the couple have claimed almost £40,000 a year for a central London flat although their home is less than 10 miles away.
The pair, Mr Keen represents Feltham and Heston while former nurse Mrs Keen holds the Isleworth and Brentford seat, have also tried to claim back council tax on the Thames apartment, according to today's Daily Telegraph.
Nicknamed 'Mr and Mrs Expenses' the couple are also said to be clawing back interest on mortgages worth £520,000, even though the flat they have bought as a second home cost £500,000.
The couple, who married in 1980, also charged the tax payer £50 for a sound engineer to reconfigure their Bose home cinema system.
Mr Keen told the Telegraph the fees office had accepted the value of their home was £520,000.
