The Cabinet decision to sell Twickenham Riverside to a developer has been called in.
A meeting is to be arranged to hear the call-in of the Cabinet’s decision of 27 April on the Twickenham Riverside Development Site.
This is expected to be a well-attended meeting as residents throughout Twickenham are concerned about signing Twickenham Riverside over to developers. The amount of “enabling” development looks set to treble.
Twickenham's MP Vince Cable has posted the following comment on his website: "My own personal view, having seen the exhibition, is that there is too much housing."
Campaigners do not want any housing and want to keep the current and very popular children's playground, cafe and gardens, which were only opened in 2005.
The Twickenham Riverside Terrace Group, whose alternative, viable and costed proposals for the regeneration of the site has submitted a planning application for the site.
