A team of runners from the Richmond and Twickenham Times were putting their feet up yesterday after completing the London Marathon.
The trio managed to complete the 26.2mile course and step over the finish line together with a time of five hours 18 minutes.
News editor Dan Menhinnitt, and reporters Ian Mason and Paul Teed took on the challenge to raise money for East Sheen charity Missing People.
Dan said: “It was tough going, particularly because it was quite hot. The worst injury I seem to have suffered is slight sunburn.
“This was the first marathon I have ever attempted. But the crowd really did help to keep the three of us going.
“While the marathon may be over the quest for sponsorship money is not. We want to raise £6,000 for our chosen charity and we need all the help we can get to raise it.”
Charity Missing People started life as a small operation in the bedroom of its founder.
But today it runs a team of volunteers and staff providing a lifeline to the families of those who have gone missing.
It also runs a phone line for teenagers who have run away from home or those who have left their families but want to pass on a message to say they are safe.
