Police are re-appealing for witnesses to a crash that killed a cyclist in Chiswick, more than 10 weeks on.

Keen cyclist Elildh Jake Cairns, 30, was killed during the early morning rush hour as she rode to work at IMG Media, based at Hogarth Business Park.

She died after a collision with a tipper-lorry at Notting Hill Gate on February 5, at about 9am.

A 53-year-old lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and has been bailed to return for further questioning by police in May.

Sergeant Don Simpson, of the Metropolitan Police’s central traffic unit, said: “It’s now been over 10 weeks since Eilidh’s life was tragically cut short.

"I believe there would have been a number of witnesses that may have seen the sequence of events leading up to Eilidh’s death.

“It is still not yet clear how Eilidh came to be in front of the lorry and I urge anyone with information to call us on our dedicated appeal line.”

Since Miss Cairns death, the Cairns family have raised £10,000 for the trauma unit at the Royal London Hospital.

Her sister Kate Cairns, 36, said: “She was my beautiful sparkling sister, my best friend and confidante.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call 020 7388 6806.
