A Chiswick resident has set off on a 4,000-mile charity car drive to raise money for the poorest country in Europe.
Andy Walker, 26, from Bedford Park, and his 11 team mates are attempting to drive across Europe to Moldova where they will hand over their cars plus more than £15,000 in cash to help two children’s charities.
The members and their six cars, which include a three-wheel Robin Reliant, were waved off by friends and family from Hyde Park corner on Saturday.
So far, the team’s journey through Brussels, the Netherlands and Germany has not been without its share of problems, including water leaks and an exhaust falling off.
If all goes to plan the six cars should arrive in Moldova on Saturday where the team members will stay until they fly back on Tuesday.
