I am researching the life of my great grandfather, Thomas Moore May, who lived in Kew and worked as a warden at Kew Palace in 1901.
I know he left the Royal Navy in 1892 and 1901 was living at 52 Battenberg Road in 1901 (now Windsor, presumably renamed in the anti German hysteria of the Great War) with his wife, Clara, who died in 1925.
Their children were Beatrice, Thomas, Olive and Edwin, who had been born in 1891. He appears to have moved house to 253 Sandycombe Road at some point.
He died in 1939, and was buried on March 15 in Richmond cemetery with his wife.
He could have been living with or cared for by Beatrice, although it was Edwin who reported the death at the registry office.
Thomas's daughter, Olive, married George Maxted in 1918 in St Luke's Church. They had three children - Edwin, George, my father and Dorothy.
I would be really interested, especially in the 'lost years' from 1892 to 1901.
