Christmas in London means one thing, more time in the pub socialising with your friends and family.

The capital has endless options when it comes to pubs whether a gastro pub mixing amazing food with drinks or a traditional no-fuss but fantastic local.

While we all have our personal favourite when it comes to enjoying a pint (or two), at Christmas time, you might want one that offers that perfect festive feeling.

You're in luck if you do, as The Standard recently named the best Christmas-decorated pubs and restaurants in London, and one iconic and historic spot made the list.

The historic London pub that's perfect for a pint this Christmas

The Churchill Arms in Kensington is a flower-decorated local that's steeped in rich history and dressed to impress at Christmas.

Making The Standard list, they described the pub in W8 as "Probably London’s most famously Instagrammable pub, the exterior of this west London boozer gets a fresh annual dosage of lights and fir for an unrivalled Christmas feel."

Not one to disagree, on its own website, The Churchill Arms self describes itself as "London's most Christmassy pub this festive season."

At Christmas time, the outside of The Churchill Arms resembles a Christmas Tree Farm with the festive fern decorating the upper-level and replacing the normal flower display.

It's not just the Christmas trees that make the Churchill Arms a Winter Wonderland, as endless twinkly lights cover the entire building and make it a giant light display.

Away from the pub's magical Christmas decorations, The Churchill Arms is renowned for its offering of drinks and its Thai Kitchen.

Drinks on offer include modern craft beers and cask classics, while the Thai Kitchen has been serving the Churchill Arms for more than 35 years.

On the online review site, Tripadvisor, The Churchill Arms has a rating of 4/5 and saw one guest say: "Great vibe in the bar. Awesome decor/ memorabilia!
