A well-loved pub in Barnes is marking its third anniversary with an exciting new chapter – including a cosy revamp and showcasing new specially commissioned art in their dining room.

The Crossing Pub on White Hart Lane, known for its culinary excellence and cosy charm, has undergone a full makeover which includes a refreshed interior and a brand-new gallery space for its customers to enjoy.

Landlord Ben Abrahams, in partnership with co-owner Christian Arden, has enlisted Buckworth & Co. to help reimagine the pub’s atmosphere.

The result is a warmer, more welcoming space, featuring new furniture, comfortable seating, and lighting in rich, autumnal tones.

Framed pictures now line the walls of the downstairs bar, adding a homely touch.

Upstairs, the dining room has been transformed into a gallery space, where a rotating exhibition will showcase local art.

The inaugural collection, unveiled during The Crossing’s third birthday celebrations on October 23, features still-life paintings by George Harding-Rolls, specially commissioned for the occasion.

Under the guidance of executive chef Riccardo Rizzo, who also oversees kitchens at other southwest London favourites like The White Horse in Richmond and The New Inn at Ham Common, The Crossing’s autumn/winter menu highlights fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Highlights include dishes such as fish from Swanage, foraged mushrooms from Dorset, and venison from Denbighshire, all with a subtle Italian twist.

In addition to the pub’s revamped interior and food offering, manager Seb Williams has enhanced the drinks menu.

Alongside its renowned wine list, with additions from Dorset’s Blashenwell Wines, the pub offers a range of draught beers, ales, and house cocktails.

Owner Christian Arden said: “The Crossing Pub has become a favourite drinking and dining destination for Barnes residents who visit regularly for the well prepared, freshly cooked and locally sourced ingredients with sustainability at its heart.

“Our new autumn menu certainly reflects this and we hope our regulars and new faces will enjoy the new warmer feel of the pub.”

Commenting on the art gallery exhibit, Ben Abrahams adds: “It seems fitting that we unveil our new gallery space upstairs with an artist such as George Harding-Rolls, who, when not creating wonderful pieces of art, works as a sustainability advocate, and whose own ethos matches our own.

“The upstairs gallery room with its own private bar will continue to be used for Sunday roast dining and can also be hired for private dining, events and parties.”
