A 16-year-old boy has been charged after a stabbing at a south London train station.
The incident happened at Barnes train station in Station Road just after 7am on September 26.
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and a man was found who had been stabbed.
He was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as life threatening however he has since been discharged.
The teen, from Clacton-on-Sea, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of an offensive weapon.
He has since been remanded into custody and appeared at Highbury magistrates court yesterday (October 5).
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “A teenager has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing at Barnes last week.
“Following his arrest this morning, the 16-year-old boy from Clacton-on-Sea, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of an offensive weapon.
“He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Highbury magistrates court tomorrow.
“Just after 7am on Thursday 26 September, officers and paramedics were called to Barnes railway station following reports of a stabbing.
“A man was taken to hospital with injuries consistent with being stabbed and has since been discharged.”
