A Metropolitan Police officer who made abusive and misogynistic comments to female colleagues has been banned from policing.
Formerly PC Terrence Ellis, who was based on the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Command, was immediately dismissed after an investigation by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.
In September 2022, Ellis used threatening, abusive or insulting words and behaviour against one female colleague.
He has also made sexist and misogynistic comments towards another female colleague.
As a result of the allegations, Ellis was suspended.
The panel dismissed him without notice at the conclusion of his hearing on Friday, July 19.
Following the hearing PC Ellis will now be placed on the barred list held by the College of Policing.
Those appearing on the list cannot be employed by police, local policing bodies (PCCs), the Independent Office for Police Conduct or His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.
Chief Superintendent Andy Burton, in charge of policing the command, said: “PC Ellis’s disgusting behaviour and language has led to his dismissal, a decision I fully support and welcome.
“This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable in the organisation and I hope this outcome demonstrates how we are rooting out those who do not demonstrate the standards we demand from our officers.
“I would like to recognise the courage and professionalism of the officers who challenged this behaviour.”
