A school in Richmond has been ranked as one of the top 15 prep schools in the UK and one of the 100 best private schools in the world.
Broomfield House School, a small community-focused school in Kew Village, has earned this prestigious recognition in the 2024 rankings by Spear’s.
This ranking positions Broomfield House School alongside revered institutions such as Westminster Under, Dulwich Prep, and St.Paul's as a Top Flight school in the Spear’s Schools Index 2024.
Spear’s Index said that Broomfield House School "offers a nurturing and supportive environment where students are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally".
Established in 1876, the school is the oldest in Kew and has grand Victoria buildings on its premises.
Despite this, the Spear's Index said that the school is "forward-thinking, successfully mixing modern with the traditional".
The ranking procedure for the Spear's Schools Index 2024 was conducted by a panel comprising top international educationalists, including Matthew Goldie-Scot, Managing Director at Thuso, a strategic consultancy focused on education, and Ian Douglas, Head of Research at Spear’s.
This advisory panel considered numerous factors, emphasising social, cultural, and pastoral elements.
While exam results and academic attainment are key measures, Spear’s acknowledged the importance of a well-rounded education.
Broomfield House School said that they are commitment to fostering academic achievement, personal development, and a strong sense of community.
The prestigious school, nestled in the leafy outskirts of Kew Village, has been a champion of exceptional education since 1876.
It provides education to boys and girls aged between 3 and 11 and is celebrated for its commitment to promoting a love of learning, kindness, and curiosity.
The community-centric school fosters a happy and successful prep school experience.
The Spear’s Schools Index, now in its fifth year, has gained wide recognition in various national and international media since it was launched in 2020.
The index serves as a valuable resource for international families, advisors to ultra high net worth individuals and family offices, those aiding with relocation to major global cities, as well as researchers and journalists seeking insight into the world's top private schools.
