A yellow weather warning has been issued for heavy rain and thunderstorms across London for most of tomorrow.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast on Saturday as the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning lasting from 9am until midnight.

Heavy showers and potential thunderstorms are expected to hit most of the UK, mainly over parts of England in the morning, before moving into Northern England and Scotland by the afternoon.

After today’s (Friday) high temperatures of 29 degrees the weather is predicted to remain largely dry with clear skies overnight, with winds easing.

The weather on Saturday is predicted to begin with cloud in the morning turning into spells of heavy rain spreading east to all parts in the afternoon with the risk of thunder.

The Met Office have warned that as much as 50mm of rain could fall within a short space of time in some areas, along with hail, lightning and strong winds, causing potential hazardous conditions.

People are being warned to expect flooding of homes and businesses which could happen quickly, with potential damage to buildings due to flood water, lightning strikes, hail, and strong winds.

If flooding or lightning does occur, there could be a chance of delays and potential cancellations to train and bus services, as well as difficult driving conditions.

There are also potential warnings for power cuts which could affect homes and businesses.
