A man has been taken to hospital after a huge fire at a fish and chip shop in Teddington.
The fire broke out at around 12.30pm today (Wednesday, June 14) at Teddington Fish Bar on Kingston Road.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to the scene and one man was taken to hospital.
Part of the fish and chip shop as well as some flats above it were damaged by the blaze.
The fire was under control by around 1.45pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at a fish and chip shop on Kingston Road in Teddington this afternoon.
“Part of a fish and chip shop with flats above was damaged by fire. One man was taken to hospital.
“The Brigade was called at 1223 and the fire was under control by 1347.
“Fire crews from Twickenham, Surbiton, Heston, Wimbledon and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
